For years, Yamaha's GP models forged an unbeatable global reputation among serious racers. An unbeatable heritage, now repowered, refined and re-born in the shape of the new high-performance musclecraft, the GP1800.

Built from the DNA of the legendary GP1300R and the Championship-winning FZR SVHO, the all-new GP1800 sprints like a champion athlete, but with the punching-power of a heavy-weight boxer.

Beating in the heart of the new GP1800 is Yamaha’s competition-proven 1.8L supercharged, Super Vortex High Output marine engine. Renowned as the largest engine in the industry, this high-torque engine is perfectly matched with Yamaha's 160mm, 8-vane high-pressure pump; delivering more acceleration and more performance than any other Yamaha WaveRunner in history.

The key to complete-performance is control, and the new GP1800 handles like no other WaveRunner before it. Featuring modified strakes, softer bow chines and a deep yet aggressive keel design results in razor-sharp and precise handling. 
Benefitting from Yamaha's exclusive material innovation and development, the race-ready NanoXcel2 hull and deck significantly reduces overall hull weight, while increasing strength and durability for an impressive power-to-weight ratio. 

Storage around the watercraft is an impressive 93.2 litres, including a cavernous bow storage area, a removable watertight bucket at the stern and twin drink holders within the glove box.

With evolution comes refinement. The GP1800 features a host of technological advancements to make riding easier and more enjoyable.
At the helm you’ll find a full digital display gauge, which is flanked by integrated rear-view mirrors. Yamaha’s exclusive RiDE dual throttle control system with electric trim provides intuitive control in all conditions and is complemented by colour-matched pistol handgrips. With comfort in mind, CNC-cut Hydro-turf mats surround the rider underfoot, while a 3-person sports-bolstered seat keeps the rider in check during tight manoeuvres.

NanoXcel2 - Lightest Hull and Deck in the industry

Yamaha's SVHO powered watercraft are now even faster, thanks to the introduction of NanoXcel2. A nanotechnology-engineered material that is even lighter than the previous version while maintaining the structural integrity the material has come to be recognized for. To create NanoXcel 2, Yamaha engineers innovated at the microscopic level using a combination of “nano” clay and glass micro-bubbles to develop a new stronger resin that uses less material. The glass micro-bubbles used in NanoXcel2 are smaller and stronger than other filler materials, contributing to the strength, rigidity and lightweight of the new hulls and decks. NanoXcel2 reduces the weight of the GP1800 to a class-leading 348kg, that's the same weight as the light-weight VXR.

Supercharged Super Vortex High Output (SVHO) 1812cc Engine

The new SVHO engine produces approximately 20% more power than before, and features improved cooling, more efficient intake, and stronger forged engine internals. The new, larger Hyper-Flow jet pump helps turn that power into electrifying acceleration, and the multi-point Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) gives smooth and efficient power output.

Watertight Storage

A watertight storage compartment is conveniently located under the seat, providing instant access to important items such as wallets, mobile phones and cameras.

160mm, 8-Vane High Pressure Pump

A large 160mm, 8-vane High-Pressure Axial Flow Pump provide unbelievable thrust, hook-up and instantaneous water displacement giving the GP1800 jaw-dropping acceleration and top-speeds.

Folding Reboarding Step

The Folding Reboarding Step on the GP1800 is designed to make climbing back on board as easy as possible, and then, just as easily, it automatically tucks back into place when not in use.

Tow Hook

A convenient stern mounted Tow Hook allows for easy towing of tubes, water-skiiers and wake-boarders.

Performance Hull

The incredibly strong and exceptionally lightweight NanoXcel2 hull has been engineered to perform both in the corners and down the high-speed straights. Featuring modified hull strakes, soft bow chines and an aggressive bow design for razor-sharp handling in corners, the GP1800 also benefits from a dihedral shaped keel design which promotes top speed and out of corner acceleration.

Electric Trim and RiDE (Reverse with Intuitive Deceleration Electronics)

Introducing RiDE by Yamaha. The world's first dual throttle handlebar control system. RiDE is easy, fun and intuitive. Pull the right lever to accelerate and the left lever to decelerate and for reverse. Release the levers for neutral. Pull them both, or in any combination, and the system reacts with precise control. Operation is simple with no manual shifting, no gears and no complicated processes. To compliment the innovative RiDE system, an electric trim switch is within easy reach of the rider's thumb. Benefits include enhanced handling and smooth deceleration.

Sports-Bolstered Racing Seat

Designed to keep the rider firmly in place when carving into an aggressive turn and when unleashing the GP1800's raw acceleration.

Forged Pistons

Forged pistons in the GP1800 are 30% stronger and more durable than conventional pistons; aiding in performance and reliability.

Remote Security Transmitter

At the push of a button, the easy-to-use remote transmitter not only activates Security Mode to prevent unauthorised startups, but it can also engages Low RPM Mode for limited acceleration and top speed, while increasing fuel economy.

Open Looped Cooling System

All Yamaha WaveRunners utilise open loop cooling, an industry standard as used by 99% of marine manufacturers. Open loop systems have been proven to be the most effective, reliable and maintenance free solution for marine environments, which means less money on maintenance and less time off the water.
